I was responsible for the sharing framework of Google's connected home. We worked to give users the sharing options they've been needing, and a safe way for kids to use connected devices. I re-initiated the sharing UX project, winning support through product strategy rationales, and research-validated UX. When I left, I was establishing the sharing framework & guidelines across 6 surfaces & 20 verticals.
I was responsible for the settings UX patterns used for dozens of first-party and thousands of third-party connected devices. Led UX & shaped product strategy for the new settings tab & redesign (2023 and 2020), including new guidelines for 10 vertical teams. Hiring manager & mentor for a contractor (2021) and intern (summer 2022), who both converted to full-time employees. Also led UX for Home app’s first ever early-access program (Public Preview).

I was responsible for the UX patterns for device setup (Out-Of-Box-Experience). Scaled device setup from just three (!) custom-built flows to a modular framework for any type of connected home device (included steering the PRD, research, and writing). I also mentored a new designer through the launch of two key setup infrastructure changes (CHOOBE & TWOOBE), as well as a contractor through applying Google Material 3 updates to all device setup modules. Established UX patterns used by 10+ vertical design teams.
